What is the Laser Body Contouring/Weight Loss Program?

We use pads with high intensity LEDs and place the pads against the skin. These pads are used for 60 minutes. The light penetrates the skin, disrupts the fat cell and the fat leaks into surrounding tissue. For the last 10 minutes, you stand on the vibration machine. This helps move the fat from the tissue into the lymphatic system so that it can be filtered and degraded. Treatments are scheduled every other day. The program must not replace healthy eating and exercise. We are strongly recommending that patients exercise (or at least walk/move/increase physical activity in some way) every day during the program to keep the fat and lymphatic system moving, flowing and draining.

During the treatment, you are lying on a Ceragem machine which is a massage table using infrared heat. It helps with blood circulation and feels like a warm, general massage.

What is the Vibration machine?

The Whole Body Vibration Treatment is an important component to maximizing low intensity laser therapy results. It is recommended after the low intensity laser therapy treatment to increase circulation and lymphatic drainage of fat from the area. It involves stepping onto an oscillating platform that emits vibrations, about 7 to 25 times per second and these vibrations fire off contractions in your muscles. Keep in mind the basis of working muscles out involves contracting them. However, having your muscles safely contract 7 to 25 times per second is something no conventional exercise routine is capable of matching, thus you workout your muscles faster and more thoroughly too.

What is the Ceragem Thermal Massager?

The Ceragem Thermal Massager incorporates massage and Ceragem pressure while radiaint far-infrared heat is optimized utilizing jade and epoxy carbon panel. Far-infrared heat is a form of thermal energy, part of the spectrum of light emanating from the sun (but unlike UV radiation.) There is no harmful radiation associated with radioactive substances.

The Ceragem has acquired FDA clearance as a class II medical device to be used for:
temporary relief of minor muscle and joint pain and stiffness
temporary relief of minor joint pain associated with arthritis
temporary increase in local circulation where applied and relaxation of muscles

It is not indicated for weight loss. We are offering a warm, relaxing massage during your laser treatment.

Do I have to exercise every day?

It is hard to schedule exercise into a busy day. But even if you do a few minutes of power walking or choose to take the stairs at work a few times in the day, that makes a difference.

Are there any medical conditions that prevent me from getting the treatment?

Pregnancy/breastfeeding
Liver/kidney disease
Problems with the immune system such as AIDS

(For other issues – you might want to see your doctor – light sensitivity or on medications that cause light sensitivity)

When will I see results?

Results are variable. On average, people start seeing results at 6-10 treatments. Body types and genetics are very individual. An inch off one person’s waist appears very different than an inch off another person’s waist.

How many treatments will I need?

Results are variable. On average, people receive 12-20 treatments.

How many pounds will I lose?

We don’t focus on pounds. We try to target problem areas around the abdomen/thighs/arms to reduce inches/centimetres.

Does it hurt?

The low intensity laser therapy – no
The vibration and ceragem – some people report temporary soreness and stiffness after treatments

Are there any side effects?

The low intensity laser therapy – As far as we know, there are no long term side effects. Short-term, temporary side effects include: tiredness. nausea, sunburn-like feeling, euphoria, generalized weakness, tingling, stomach distension and changes in skin color (very rare).

The vibration and ceragem – some people report temporary soreness and stiffness after treatments

Some women who are menstruating may experience increased flow due to the heat from the ceragem.

Will the fat come back?

Fat cells tend to return if people don’t eat healthy and exercise. Therefore, during and after the treatment program, we are always encouraging healthy eating and exercise. In particular, we are strongly recommending that patients exercise (or at least walk/move/increase physical activity in some way) every day during the program to keep the fat and lymphatic system moving, flowing and draining.

How many body parts do you target?

You receive four pads with each session. This will cover two body parts, usually. The most common combinations are abdomen/thighs or abdomen/arms. We almost always treat abdomen.

How do I prepare for an appointment?

Wear loose, COTTON clothing. BRING YOUR OWN TOWEL. Bring water with you. Try to drink 6-8 glasses of water a day.

Can I eat before/after treatments?

Sometimes you feel nausea after the treatment. So, you may want to eat one hour before/after treatments.

Will it work? Do you make any guarantees?

Laser therapy has been shown to reduce inches in the medical studies. However, there are no guarantees.

What if I have medical conditions that prohibit me from using the vibration machine?

Immediately after the treatment, we recommend that you power walk or do some form of cardiovascular/aerobic exercise for about 10-15 minutes.

How does this compare to other body contouring programs?

There are different devices using different technology for body contouring. They have not been compared in head-to-head studies.
